What You Need To Know About Food Allergy Treatment

Traditional food allergy treatment simply involves avoiding the foods you are allergic to. If you are allergic to chocolate, then don’t eat it. It doesn’t get any simpler than that. You may unknowingly be exposing yourself to foods that you are allergic to if you eat a lot of processed foods. For example, if you like eating chocolate and are allergic to peanuts, you no doubt eat the chocolate without peanuts in it. However, what you may have failed to realize is that the chocolate you eat may have come into contact with peanuts and may even have some peanuts in it. That’s because all the chocolate is made in the same preparation area.

Are You Allergic To More Than One Kind Of Food? What Does Food Allergy Treatment Look Like For You?

Food allergy treatment is more complicated when the sufferer is allergic to more than just one food. It makes it more difficult to determine which foods you are actually allergic to. Your doctor might advise you to begin a rotation diet in this case.  With this type of food allergy treatment, you must eliminate all the foods you are allergic to from your diet, and rotate all other foods on a predetermined schedule, usually three to five days.  The reason for this is because many people who suffer from multiple food allergies are also allergic, to a much lesser degree, to many other foods and additives.  The rotation diet allows them to eat these other foods in lesser quantities over shorter time periods.

Then after a while, you will likely be able to little by little start eating the foods you are allergic to in first smaller quantities and then progressively larger and larger. It is advisable, however, to do this in small quantities and to continue with your rotating diet.  Many patients who strictly adhere to this food allergy treatment find they are able to live normal and productive lives.

EFT For Food Allergy Treatment

Several allergy sufferers have found relief using EFT. I’ve talked about this before. EFT is an acupressure procedure that is easy to learn and that you can perform on yourself anywhere. There are certain pressure points on the head, face and body that the allergy sufferer taps with the finger tips while the individual repeats phrases. No medication or anything crazy like that.

Like any medical condition, however, be sure that you consult your doctor with your difficulties and follow his or her advice if your allergies are severe or life-threatening.
