Common food allergies may not be allergies at all. It could be food sensitivity. Basically, allergies result in a more severe immune response while the other usually only results in a response at the cell level. There are many theories as to why we become allergic to food. It shouldn’t surprise any of us that the amount processed foods with chemical additives and loads of sugar we eat is definitely playing a role.

Many believe that the common food allergies emerging today are also the result of an over-sterile environment. It is actually beneficial if your baby and child is exposed to germs and bacteria normally. This way their immune system has a chance to become familiar with them. However, other food allergies are different.

Some people have such an adverse reaction, that even if a third party has touched a peanut or peanut product, and then touch them; they can go into anaphylaxis shock. The problem with milk is that all the helpful enzymes are killed in the pasteurization process. This is why I like to drink raw milk. The enzymes actually help you digest the milk.

Soy is an overrated food and you are better off staying away from it. Some studies suggest that the outer skin of the soy bean interferes with the body’s ability to metabolize protein. The soy may have a lot of protein, but your body can’t get at it. It just comes out unused by the body.

What Can You Do About These Common Food Allergies?

So where do you go from here to deal with these common food allergies? First, if you love milk, try to find a source of raw milk in your area. It may be more expensive but it is actually better for you. When pasteurization was developed, dairy farms where dirty and not well kept leading to damaged milk. This is not the case today. Farms are cleaner.

Modify Your Diet

One game I like to play when at the supermarket is to look in other people’s carts and see what crap is in there. In many cases, a full shopping cart will have no fresh foods in it at all. They are all processed. That means they contain sugar and chemicals. Ideally you should eat 100% fresh. Try to get closer to this standard every day. If you can do this you may find that you can free of the common food allergies.
